Leadership Team
Randall W. Perkins, CPA, ERPA
President and CEO
Randall W. Perkins founded Prime Benefits in 1999 after spending 17 years as a Partner with William M. Mercer, the country’s largest employee benefits consulting group. At Mercer, he managed the Eastern United States 401k Service Group and was the Mid-Atlantic Defined Contribution practice leader. The required educational and training curriculum at Mercer provided him a framework of technical expertise that ranks Prime Benefits near the top of its competitors in the region. Additionally, he replicated the rigorous peer review standards in place at Mercer, which provides the foundation for the quality of all the work produced by his firm.
He also served as Vice President/General Manager at ADP Retirement Services which provided him good insight as to the differing administrative procedures and services between the small and large plan 401(k) markets. His goal in ultimately moving to the smaller plan market was to offer similar technologies and services to the small plan in which the larger plans had benefited for years. Accordingly, he was one of the first in the area to offer “Open investment fund” architecture to smaller clients.
Randall graduated from the University of North Carolina with a B.S.degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He was designated as a Certified Public Accountant by Maryland in 1981. He is also an Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA), the highest credentials in the retirement plan spectrum.
His service model is structured around providing a top-quality consultative service in a proactive fashion at a reasonable price.
